Matt Raines

Matt is part of the senior leadership team of JLG UK working closely with UK Managing Director and key colleagues in the U.S. to help set the vision of the firm and implement business strategy. He is a highly skilled senior litigator and team leader with 15 years of fee-earning experience.

Prior to JLG, was a Litigation Team leader at one of the largest legal practices in the country for 10 years, progressing from a paralegal position.

Matt is an accomplished litigator in own right and now highly skilled and well versed in the law relating to Group Litigation Orders in the English and Welsh legal system.

Matt is responsible for day to day conduct of a number of diesel emissions group actions in UK Manchester Branch of Johnson Law Group. He is involved in collaboration with other claimant law firms within the group action community and supervises a team of legal staff to achieve all necessary compliance with GLO court directions orders as well as ensure high levels of client engagement and cooperation. He instructs senior counsel and attends conferences with the same with a view to mapping out litigation strategies for group action work.

Matt was also pivotal in the setting up and ongoing progress of PCP car finance initiative and has secured a number of successes in this field as well as in SIPP and business insurance claim litigation.

Matt works closely with CMS development team to provide insight and legal technical input for creation and development of case management workflows.
